I am attempting an upgrade of my iPhone to the new OS version and have hit a snag. You think Apple would make this a little bit easier. Some of the woes:
1. "You have purchased content on this iPhone that hasn't been transferred to this computer"--solution? Hit transfer, which I do, but the error doesn't go away.
2. "This iPhone failed to update"--Solution? restart computer. I did that, which led to number 3
3. "There is an iPhone connected to this computer that must be restored to update"--all my data was deleted--this is what chaps my hide the most. I know have to go back and recustomize my entire phone.
Why is it so hard to sync apps and other data (such as music)? I don't understand why Apple just doesn't have a remote restore option available where they keep track of all your purchases so you can easily download them again without a fee?
I'm lucky in that I've had years of experience dealing with server updates gone crazy, so I always Always ALWAYS backup before I do any major server (operating system) changes. Thank goodness I did the same, here.
Apple, you have just disappointed me.
